Wellington Windsurfing Association

Monthly BBQ at Eastbourne

1st Sunday of each month (if windy)

10am-4pm

all levels welcome

Welcome to a new season with the Wellington Windsurfing Association. Since the meeting in September, we’ve got together to work on planning events for the next  couple of months. Everyone is enthusiastic and looking forward to a fantastic summer with lots of fun events. It was decided not to run big events such as the Ditch Derby and Harbour Blast this year, but instead to focus on regular fun events such as the BBQ which was held last season at Eastbourne. This is going to be a regular event, so remember the first Sunday (provided its windy - of course) of each month at Eastbourne.

There’s lots of other events both in the calendar or being considered for early 1999 including a Have-A-Go Day, rigging and gybing clinics and casual racing and wave events. The association still owns an inflatable boat which will be at all events, both for safety and for placing buoys.

Thanks to Bob Zuur who has stepped down as President of the WWA after several years. He’s going to continue to tackle the council on issues such as water quality, and  maintaining carparks at Kio Bay (currently under threat of being turned into a cycling track).

The 1998/99 membership subscription is now due - $25 single/$40 family. The form is attached. Please pay promptly - payments before 30th Nov will automatically go in a draw to win a harness (donated by WWA and Wild Winds)

See you at the first event - Sunday after Labour Weekend, at Eastbourne.
