Picton/Blenheim

The Interisland ferry takes you across the Cook Strait, through the scenic Queen Charlotte Sound to Picton, a small fishing town offering plenty of accommodation for the stream of passers-through. There are a few good places for windsurfing in the Marlborough Sounds, like the Mahakipawa Arm, but the surrounding high hills tend to disturb the wind.
